Women’s Rights in Jeopardy Today the Supreme Court upheld in a 5 to 4 majority to leave the Texas Abortion law in place that bans Abortion after 6 weeks. This will allow anyone to sue/take to court anyone who assists someone in getting an abortion after 6 weeks. As a Democrat I believe in a woman’s right to choose. I personally do not believe in Abortion unless there is extreme circumstances such as rape and/or the mother’s life is in danger; however as a person who respects others beliefs I would never push my view on anyone or judge anyone. In many cases woman do not even know that they are pregnant until after 6 weeks. Some women can continue to have their periods and so forth. Governor Mills Saves Jobs at Sappi Paper Mill Democratic Governor, Janet Mills intervenes and will not allow the dam on the Kennebec River to cause the paper mill Sappi runs to close. Sappi employs hundreds of employees across Somerset County and the region.

The Somerset County Maine Democratic Party was formed by dedicated volunteers of Somerset County that believe in tolerance, compromise and making Maine a better place for all regardless of Party. Somerset County is home to a diverse population with various points of views. The Democratic Party of Somerset County is open to all views and to common ground regardless of party affiliation. The people of Somerset County regardless of party all want what is best. The Somerset County Maine Democratic Party has an open mind to all views. We are here to work together to make this state prosperous and great.
Somerset County is a very beautiful area in the Heart of Maine. We will be sharing our Democratic values, announcements of upcoming events, candidates’ news, and our collective sense of humor with other like-minded Democrats, no matter where you live. The Somerset County Maine Democratic Party is a volunteer organization. All members of this party included elected officers are not paid. All resources including this website and hosting are donated by members in Somerset County. We are a grassroots operation which requires funds to assist in local election, state elections and national elections. All funds are used to help elect Democrats across the board and also to combat misinformation. All funds that are used are accounted for and are shared openly with the Members of the Somerset County Democratic Committee.
